The YMCA of the Fox Cities is seeking a dedicated & detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our Human Resources team! In celebration of a remarkable 46-year career, our current Payroll Administrator is retiring, and we are looking for a talented professional to continue this essential work.

As the payroll administrator, you’ll be fully responsible for the payroll function, ensuring accurate & timely payroll processing, compliance with regulatory requirements, and high-quality service to our employees & leadership team. The Payroll Administrator is the subject matter expert for all things payroll and stays up-to-date with evolving regulations. Additionally, as part of the HR team, this position supports general HR functions and projects to contribute to a positive and effective workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer bi-weekly payroll processing using UKG Workforce Ready (HRIS software).
  • Review payroll reports for accuracy throughout the pay cycle.
  • Process payroll-related documentation in UKG, including direct deposit changes, tax withholdings, and deductions.
  • Manage quarter and year-end payroll closings, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the Plan Administrator for retirement processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to plan regulations.
  • Provide reporting and support as the primary contact for external auditors and compliance reviews.
  • Contribute to HR projects and support department initiatives.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to supervisors and staff, ensuring payroll inquiries are handled efficiently and accurately.

Requirements

  • At least 3-years of recent payroll administration experience.
  • Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems. Familiarity with UKG Workforce Ready is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with retirement plan administration is preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills to support employees & supervisors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold HR & payroll best practices.
