What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll be the heart of a classroom of eight little learners. Your daily mission includes:

Inspiring Young Minds

  • Design and implement a fun, developmentally-appropriate curriculum that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and promotes learning in all areas.

  • Use your expertise to guide children’s growth, support their social-emotional development, and teach essential skills in language, literacy, and problem-solving.

Creating a Loving Environment

  • Establish a nurturing, responsive classroom where infants and toddlers feel safe, loved, and ready to explore.

  • Help children develop self-regulation and social skills, working alongside families to address any challenges with care and understanding.

Building Strong Partnerships

  • Collaborate with families to celebrate each child’s unique milestones and growth.

  • Keep parents involved and informed through regular communication, home visits, and conferences.

  • Foster positive relationships with families, encouraging them to play an active role in their child’s education.

Supporting Every Child’s Journey

  • Observe and document each child’s progress, tailoring your approach to meet their needs and interests.

  • Work closely with education leadership to adjust lesson plans and strategies to ensure every child thrives.

  • Partner with specialists to implement Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for children with disabilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Create a classroom routine that balances structure and flexibility, responsive to the needs of each child.

  • Prepare daily lesson plans and post them for families and visitors.

  • Supervise meals, field trips, and playtime—modeling good nutrition, social skills, and safety practices.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment.

What You Bring to the Table

  • A love for children and a passion for early education.

  • Knowledge of child development principles and an eagerness to apply them.

  • Strong communication skills to build trust and rapport with families.

  • A collaborative spirit and a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.

  • At least one year of experience working with infants and toddlers in an educational or childcare setting.

  • Familiarity with Head Start Standards, NAEYC Accreditation Criteria, and licensing requirements is a plus.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.

  • We are willing to provide a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for new hires. Candidates must obtain their CDA within one year of employment to continue in the role.
