EVENTS AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking a full-time Events and Communications Coordinator. This position is instrumental in promoting the awareness of the Milwaukee Rescue Mission to maximize community engagement and attract supporters. As Communications Coordinator, this position will assist in supporting the design, development and launch of strategic digital and traditional marketing and communication materials/content. As Events Coordinator, this position will coordinate all aspects of fundraising events.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, with the ability to work flexible hours as needed
LOCATION: Central Campus, 830 N 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53233
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Events:
- Plan, implement and follow-up for all special events including Banquet/Silent Auction, Golf Outing Fundraiser, Donor Appreciation Events, others as necessary
- Coordinate event logistics (including volunteers), publicity, advertising and collateral material design, production and distribution
- Oversee silent auction, prize and in-kind donation solicitation for each event
- Coordinate logistics of event ticket sales
- Supervise and coordinate with event contractors
- Maintenance of event software
- Attend and support other events as needed
- Communications:
- Assist in all aspects of direct marketing fundraising programs
- Direct Mail and Digital Fundraising (copy editing and review routing, quality control, social media, development of event and marketing materials, etc.)
- Public Relations (monitor emails submitted through “Contact Us” form on website)
- Maintain organization of photo library and direct marketing archives
- Provide support in Graphic Design, Photography and Videography
- Development of event and marketing materials through use of Adobe programs
- Photograph and video record various events and initiatives that take place at all campuses
- Liaison with vendors including account managers, photographers, writers, videographers, etc.
- Assist other departments with various communications, photography, videography
- Assist in all aspects of direct marketing fundraising programs

- Assist with projects and tasks as needed
- Create materials and flyers for other department staff, including volunteer flyers and letters
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in communications, marketing or related field strongly preferred
- Prefer a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in events coordination and marketing. Evidence of successful event, sponsorship, marketing and public relations is necessary.
- Mature Christian with a servant’s heart who is able to relate well with others in a diverse population
- Creative skill set
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills with the capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail oriented with excellent organization and follow-through skills
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and community-driven with a positive attitude and readiness to be a flexible team player
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs required
- Proficiency with Adobe Publisher or InDesign strongly preferred
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record required
- A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
- Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
- Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
