EVENT COORDINATOR

The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking a part-time Event Coordinator. The Event Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Advancement Team to coordinate all aspects of fundraising events.

WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time, weekdays, 1st shift.  Variable hours depending on the time of year. Generally 15-20 hours per week, but can expect to be higher in the months leading up to either one of our two major events (late April/early May and late August/early September).

LOCATION: Central Campus, 830 N 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53233

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, implement and follow-up for all special events including Banquet/Silent Auction, Golf Outing Fundraiser, Donor Appreciation Events, others as necessary
  • Coordinate event logistics (including volunteers), publicity, advertising and collateral material design, production and distribution
  • Work within events and marketing budgets
  • Oversee silent auction, prize and in-kind donation solicitation for each event
  • Coordinate logistics of event ticket sales
  • Supervise and coordinate with event contractors
  • Maintenance of event software
  • Attend and support other events as needed
  • Other department support as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, preferably in Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in events coordination and marketing. Evidence of successful event, sponsorship, marketing and public relations is necessary.
  • Mature Christian with a servant’s heart who is able to relate well with others in a diverse population
  • Creative skill set
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization and follow-through skills
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and community-driven with a positive attitude and readiness to be a flexible team player
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs required.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Publisher or InDesign a plus
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Must be able to handle physical workload – ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, walking, stair climbing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as occasional lifting or moving items with a maximum weight of 55lbs a short distance (ex: floor to shelf or cart), and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly
  • A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
  • Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
  • Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
