Director, Clinical Services

The Clinical Director is responsible for managing all clinical services programs and serves on the management team of Mental Health America of WI, an affiliate of the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to helping Americans achieve wellness. The incumbent provides vision and leadership to ensure quality service provision and coordination of services to adult and child clients living with mental health and substance use disorders.

DUTIES

  1. Oversee daily operations of outpatient clinic, school-based program, case management, and education services
  2. Provide supervision of clinic staff and graduate-level interns
  3. Assist in hiring and training of clinic staff/interns
  4. Work with a variety of community organizations and individuals to arrange and coordinate services and solicit support (e.g., Milwaukee County, CCS, Wellpoint, )
  5. Confer with managers and staff in other departments and agencies to coordinate activities and resolve issues related to the program
  6. Make presentations to community groups and organizations regarding programs, services, and activities
  7. Attend various community meetings, committees, and conferences related to program goals and objectives
  8. Direct the maintenance of all records and files; prepare reports, correspondence, and a variety of written materials
  9. Work with the billing specialist to ensure timely payment collection from insurance companies and other funding
  10. Assist with oversight for all evaluations, both externally and internally
  11. Report directly to MHA’s President and CEO

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

  1. Mental illness, substance use disorders, the recovery philosophy, and individual advocacy
  2. Coordinating multiple projects and meeting critical
  3. Preparing and monitoring a program and/or departmental budget
  4. Supervisory principles and practices, including work planning, evaluation, and employee training and discipline
  5. Experience in program management including budgeting
  6. Ability to develop program areas as needed
  7. Principles of program evaluation
  8. Developing and evaluating program goals, procedures, standards and methods based on legislative and administrative Interpreting and applying codes and regulations.
  9. Preparing effective reports, correspondence, and other written
  10. Maintaining accurate records and
  11. Exercising independent judgment within established policy
  12. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the

Skill in:

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Program development
  • Planning, assigning, supervising, reviewing and evaluating the work of staff
  • Training staff in work procedures

REQUIREMENTS

  • Clinical License LCSW or LPC
  • CSAC license preferred
  • Car, car insurance, and valid driver’s license
  • 40 hours/week
