Job Summary:  We are seeking an Immigration Attorney to join this new practice area. The Immigration Practice Group will focus on asylum cases and deportation issues with practice expansion dependent on demand.    

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engage in legal strategy sessions with clients to fully understand the facts and goals for individuals seeking asylum
  • Participate as a member of legal team dedicated to ensuring alignment with client goals and advancement of case in culturally competent manner
  • Confer with clients and other attorneys in a prompt, professional manner
  • Represent clients before the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) in Chicago and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in Milwaukee

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate Degree
  • Resourceful, unflappable approach to challenges
  • Passion for social justice and commitment to working with low-income communities and communities of color to advance equity
  • Excellent communication skills — verbal and written
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passage of Criminal Background Check
  • Bilingual in Spanish
