The Administrative Assistant fulfills an instrumental role as the first point of contact for all individuals entering the office or contacting the agency. They assist with the Court Reminders program which includes providing telephone reminders and helping clients problem solve barriers that may impact attendance at mandatory court hearings. Individuals served by the agency often experience mental health and/or substance abuse disorders and this position requires an individual who is empathetic, compassionate, and composed.

The Administrative Assistant will greet and direct individuals and guests when they arrive to the office; direct callers as appropriate (including taking and forwarding messages to staff); assist with the Court Reminders program, including helping clients problem-solve barriers in reporting to court; become versed in the programs and services offered by JusticePoint; assist with other clerical duties as needed.

Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to communicate professionally & accurately, both orally and written
  • Organized, attentive to detail, ability to multi-task, work independently
  • Ability to maintain a professional, respectful demeanor with clients, guests, and colleagues
  • Fluency in Spanish, spoken and written, preferred
  • Prior clerical or reception experience preferred

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required; related associate degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile with insurance
  • Pass a pre-employment background check
