Electronic Monitoring Installers/Specialists are responsible for installing, retrieving, and basic troubleshooting of various electronic monitoring devices (GPS, Remote Breath, Home Curfew, and Continuous Alcohol Monitoring equipment) within 24 hours of request for service.  Installers will receive the electronic service request, obtain the appropriate equipment, and meet clients at community locations and / or the client’s residence.  This position requires significant driving as you will be traveling to various work sites within your assigned area.  A valid license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance is a must.  A company vehicle is provided for most full-time employees (subject to estimated annual mileage and satisfactory driving record).  Mileage reimbursement is available for those who do not quality for the company vehicle.  This position is ideal for college students, parents with kids in school, retirees, and/or someone looking for experience in the criminal justice field.

Responsibilities:  

  • Receive service requests from JusticePoint dispatch staff via email, text, and/or phone
  • Maintain sufficient and accurate inventory of electronic monitoring devices
  • Establish location and time for meeting with client and complete the request within 24 hours
  • Install/perform maintenance/ troubleshoot/ remove electronic monitoring equipment
  • Document all physical services performed as well as communication with clients / DOC staff as required; including providing the status of the request with the dispatch team
  • Maintain detailed logs of hours worked and miles traveled utilizing web-based software
  • Represent JusticePoint professionally in all client interactions and at service locations
  • Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications & Competencies:  

  • Organized, attentive to detail, ability to multi-task, and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals from diverse economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds  
  • Ability to exercise good judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to learn technical requirements of installation/retrieval/troubleshooting of each electronic monitoring device utilized by JusticePoint
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Experience and/or education in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or related human service field preferred
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile with insurance 
  • Pass a pre-employment (and ongoing, as required) and regular follow up background checks as required

*After probation period is completed a fleet vehicle may be designated for this position.
