Position Title: Part-Time Pantry Assistant (12-16 hours weekly)
Organization: Interchange Food Pantry, 130 E. Juneau Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53202
Description: Interchange Food Pantry seeks a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as a part-time pantry assistant at our two Milwaukee locations. The pantry assistant works with the Executive Director and other staff members to coordinate daily operations, manage volunteers, oversee inventory, and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Help manage day-to-day operations, including overseeing pantry days, loading and unloading shipments (ability to lift up to 50 lbs.), conducting inventory counts, scheduling, and coordinating volunteers.
- Drive a company cargo van to pick up and make deliveries.
- Supervise and support volunteers, ensuring they receive proper training and resources to fulfill their roles effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to oversee food and supplies procurement, storage, and distribution and maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and legal requirements.
Qualifications:

- Prior experience in customer service, retail (specifically grocery stores), or warehouse environments.
- Clean driving record
- Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse associates in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Pay rate: $20.00 per hour
- Paid Time Off: 23 days of PTO. The PTO accrues on the first day of employment, and employees can start taking their PTO after 90 days.
