Guest House of Milwaukee, the largest housing program provider in Wisconsin, has been dedicated to addressing homelessness since 1982. Originally a short-term emergency shelter, we now offer a comprehensive range of onsite and community-based programs tailored to the evolving needs of individuals facing housing insecurity. The Director of Facilities is a Critical Role in the Mission:
- Safe and Clean Environment: Ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming space for clients, directly impacting their well-being.
- Comfort and Security: Maintains the comfort and security of clients, allowing them to focus on rebuilding their lives.
- Building Maintenance and Safety Compliance: Oversees building maintenance, safety compliance, and vendor relations to ensure facilities are functional and supportive.
- Leadership in Coordination: Manages repairs, emergency situations, and health/safety protocols to create a compassionate atmosphere.
- Custodial Oversight: Provides leadership and direction to the Custodial Technician, ensuring that cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently met across all facilities.
- Proactive Communication: Facilitates effective communication among staff and stakeholders to enhance the overall success of programs.
- Community Focus: Contributes significantly to fostering a community that prioritizes the needs of our most vulnerable members.

Requirements:
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED plus 10 years related experience OR
- Associates in a technical field/Bachelors in Facilities Management or related field plus 3 years related experience
- Preferred: Leadership experience
Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building codes
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license and transportation
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Familiarity with safety and compliance regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facilities management software
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities across buildings
- Ability to work autonomously
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
