Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading local hunger-relief organization in the state with locations in Milwaukee and Appleton. JOB PURPOSE:
As a Data Systems Coordinator, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining our data infrastructure, optimizing data flows, and providing technical support to staff. You will ensure our data systems run efficiently, securely, and contribute to data-driven decision-making that improves food distribution, resource allocation, and organizational impact.
Overall responsibility is to provide data stewardship, dashboards, visualizations, mapping and report development to support organizational data-driven decision-making.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Integrity & Compliance: Maintain data integrity and compliance by ensuring the accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and compliance of donor and product data. Schedule and track data cleaning processes to maintain a lean and relevant data set. Develop clear data management goals, communicate with staff, and document changes/decisions. Ensure that all data management practices align with legal and organizational standards.
- Dataset Creation & Reporting: Develop and maintain reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as food distribution rates, volunteer participation, donor contributions, and client needs. Integrate data from multiple sources including inventory systems, donation databases, and volunteer management platforms to create a single data modeling and reporting system.
- Visualization & Dashboards: Create visualizations, maps, and interactive reports that allow non-technical staff to easily interpret data and make informed decisions. Create dashboard presentations for management and our Board of Directors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide data-driven insights and ensure alignment on operational goals. Use data to run a variety of analytics models that can help drive decision-making for financial, tactical and strategic purposes.
- Data Insights: Conduct data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in food distribution and resource management. Provide recommendations based on findings to senior management. Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Handle competing priorities and identify urgent and critical priorities for the business.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to understanding and supporting FAEW’s mission, vision, and effective actions to end food insecurity and its causes.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent in relevant field, preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of relational database structure with strong SQL query writing to extract data for report generation.
- Understanding of development tools and their correlation to database structures.
- Proficiency with R or Python. Familiarity with HTML/CSS a plus for Shiny app development.
- Experience using BI tools for data visualization and dashboard creation, familiarity with Tableau a plus.
- Strong demonstrated oral and written communication skills; ability to teach and present information to a non-technical audience.
- A positive, team-oriented mindset with a “can-do” approach to supporting the organization, demonstrating cross-functional collaboration and a focus on developing solutions.
- Proven track record of successfully working in highly collaborative and matrixed organizational environments.
