Feast of Crispian (FoC) is seeking a Director of Development (DoD) to plan, develop, and maintain a comprehensive fundraising program on their behalf, furthering the mission and vision of the organization.

Duty 1 – Devise and implement the annual fundraising plan for FoC

Tasks:

  1. Identify new potential donors.
  2. Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors.
  3. Work with the Executive Committee to devise a fundraising strategy.
  4. Devise and implement a solicitation strategy for new donors.
  5. Create and maintain a donor tracking systems and database.
  6. Report periodically to the Board of Directors on fundraising status.
  7. Collaborate with the Executive Committee to determine funding needs for upcoming events and annual programing; i.e. workshops, classes and weekend intensives.

Duty 2 – Be a significant ‘public face’ of FoC (public relations)

Tasks:

  1. Build and maintain relationships with foundations, corporate employee resource groups, stake holding agencies, as well as mission orientated and relevant organizations and coalitions.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with local & regional news/broadcast outlets including (but not limited to) news broadcasting stations, local radio stations and newspapers.
  3. Liaison between FoC and stake holding agencies such as the VA Medical Center, Veteran Service Organizations and local non-profits such as the Center for Veterans Issues.
  4. Liaison between FoC and local theater companies and groups such as Next Act Theater and the Milwaukee Repertory Theater.
  5. Attend all veteran and theater relevant events in the local and regional area to promote and represent FoC.
  6. Conduct routine outreach to the community including the development of informative materials such as; brochures, social media posts, newsletters, press releases, etc.

Duty 3 – Oversee Grant Writing

Tasks:

  1. Manage online grant application portals with respective organizations and foundations.
  2. Assess grant criteria to determine eligibility and appropriateness.
  3. Research and seek out grant funders who most closely align with the organizations mission, scope and vision.
  4. Follow grant guidelines precisely and ensure grammatical accuracy.
  5. Ensure the value of FoC’s impact is communicated effectively in clear and understandable language.

Duty 4 – Expand the mission, vision and scope of FoC

Tasks:

  1. Actively engage with veteran service organizations to promote FoC as a viable mental health alternative program.
  2. Continually seek out new and innovative ways FoC’s vision can apply to other communities that (as result of their stressful careers) suffer from mental health disorders such as; police, firefighters, EMT’s, front line social workers and case managers, etc.
  3. Seek out and engage with regional and national theater organizations that are doing similar work to find ways of mutual support and collaboration; i.e. National Veteran Theater Festival.
  4. Engage with tertiary stake holding organizations and coalitions to promote FoC’s vision of using theater and acting as a therapeutic modality for people suffering from mental & emotional health disorders.
