Through innovative fundraising and programming solutions, we prioritize simplicity, integrity, and impactful results. Our services include grant writing, program development, evaluation strategies, and more.
We specialize in working with new and growing nonprofits, getting them grant ready through the Getting Grant Ready Guidance Program and getting their first grants. We also fill the gap for more established organizations with a development team, acting as an interim grants manager during staffing transitions and as a long term grants manager.
As a Consulting Associate, you will play a key role in helping clients achieve their goals by contributing to high-quality deliverables and supporting our mission to make a difference.

About the Consulting Associate Position
The Consulting Associate position is a key position at Eloquent Unrest that supports the entirety of the services we provide to clients. Designed as an entry-level position with significant opportunities for growth, the Consulting Associate role provides a structured pathway for professional development. Responsibilities are divided into two categories:
- Starting Responsibilities: These foundational tasks introduce Consulting Associates to the core functions of the role and ensure a solid understanding of Eloquent Unrest’s processes and client services.
- Growth Responsibilities: These advanced tasks may be taken on as Associates demonstrate competence and readiness, allowing them to expand their skills and deepen their contributions to the organization.
This structure ensures a supportive and flexible environment where Consulting Associates can grow at their own pace while contributing meaningfully to Eloquent Unrest’s mission.
Starting Responsibilities
Grant Application Preparation:
- Convert grant applications and reports into editable and accessible Google Docs for team use.
- Gather and compile required grant attachments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and update grant calendars to monitor deadlines and track submission progress.
Prospect Research Support:
- Conduct detailed research on identified prospective funders to compile relevant information.
- Organize relevant prospect information into formatted Grants Calendars.
Getting Grant Ready Guidance Program (GGRGP) Operational Support:
- Record and organize client responses to surveys for analysis and reporting.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive client files, ensuring ease of access and accuracy.
- Assist in the creation of client-facing materials, including slide decks, Resource & Referrals lists, and wrap-up documentation.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain and update accurate records of client data, including sensitive donor and organizational information, in accordance with confidentiality policies.
- Log hours worked per task to support accurate client billing and internal tracking.
- Follow internal communication protocols to ensure seamless collaboration and efficient task management across projects.
Growth Responsibilities
Grant Writing & Support:
- Collaborate on the preparation and submission of grant applications by formatting documents, drafting engaging and well-structured narratives, creating accurate budgets, and compiling all required attachments.
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of grant reports by formatting and organizing reports, collecting and analyzing relevant data, drafting clear narratives, and assembling necessary documentation.
Getting Grant Ready Guidance Program (GGRGP) Operational Support:
- Analyze client survey responses to identify strengths and areas for improvement, applying rubric-based assessments to evaluate grant readiness effectively.
- Design and deliver polished slide decks and comprehensive wrap-up documentation to guide clients in implementing their next steps.
- Test and evaluate newly developed measurement tools for client evaluation processes, providing actionable feedback to ensure their accuracy, functionality, and alignment with program objectives.
Starting Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when following written directions.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and accountability.
Experience:
- Familiarity with nonprofit operations and/or educational organizations is a plus.
- Content or technical writing skills are a plus.
Technical Proficiency:
- Comfortable with the Google Suite of applications.

Compensation
This is a part-time, remote W-2 position with monthly payment based on work completed.
Compensation is structured as follows:
- Starting Responsibilities: $18 per hour.
- Growth Responsibilities: $30 per hour, available as you demonstrate readiness and take on advanced tasks.

- Paid Task
To give you a sense of the work and for us to assess your approach, you’ll complete a short, paid task similar to the responsibilities of the role. You will be paid $10 upon completion of the task, which is estimated to take approximately half an hour to complete.
- Comprehensive Interview
Candidates who successfully complete the paid task will be invited to a longer interview. This session will dive deeper into your skills, experience, and alignment with Eloquent Unrest’s mission and values.
- Peer Conversation (Optional)
You’ll have the opportunity to speak with a current Consulting Associate to gain insight into the day-to-day responsibilities and workplace culture.
