POSITION: Reentry Lead Case Manager, Women’s Reentry Program
REPORTS TO: WHRP Clinical Director
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $23-$24 per hour
POSITION PURPOSE: Provide individualized, strength-based case management, support, and advocacy services to women at the Milwaukee County Community Reintegration Center (CRC) in Franklin, WI, formerly known as the House of Correction. This position will also provide intake, screening, individual support and psychoeducational groups on site at the CRC.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct screening and intake with clients in the women’s dorms and develop individualized service plans.
- Provide individualized, strength-based case management to women throughout their time at the CRC.
- Provide interested women with planning, connection, and supportive services for their return to the community.
- Facilitate 2 weekly evidence-based, gender-responsive psychoeducational group curricula, including Moving On, Seeking Safety, Beyond Violence, Nurturing Parenting, and others as assigned.
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and supportive case management to clients.
- Connect interested clients with WRP Reentry Specialist for Community-based Reentry Services. Help create written Reentry Plans for clients’ needs post-release (ensuring that women have adequate clothing, shelter, follow up appointments, medications, etc.
- Coordinate with other service providers at the CRC and with outside community agencies to provide clients with continuity of care and to optimize available resources.
- Connect women with family or supportive persons who can help them navigate their return to the community.
- Collect and report data to track WRP program activities and outcomes.
- Attend other professional development training as deemed necessary to provide services.
- Coordinate services for clients with other Women’s Reentry Program and Benedict Center staff and interns.
- Provide aspects of instruction and onboarding for essential program activities and program documentation in electronic health record for new staff and interns.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program staff and interns when Clinical Director is off site, providing guidance on program activities and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or other related human services field or commensurate experience
- One year experience working with women impacted by the justice system
- Demonstrated experience providing groupwork or classes to a client population
- One year minimum experience in a team lead or supervisory capacity
- Training in Trauma-Informed Care principles and Motivational Interviewing practices, preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and up-to-date auto insurance

- Ability to work with correctional system partners, including following directions and working within their protocols to achieve best outcomes for women being served
- Commitment to providing services that are gender-responsive, evidence-based and that reflect the practices of Stages of Change Theory, Harm Reduction and Women’s Relational Psychology
- Adhere to the Code of Ethics of Social work, counseling, etc.
- Ability to work well with women from diverse economic, racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, and religious backgrounds in an open and respectful environment
- Commitment to self-reflection, accountability and cultural competence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience with group facilitation
- Sound judgement and ability to deescalate situations with clients
- Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner and as a team-player
- Computer literacy and experience with databases and excel worksheets
