POSITION: Lead Outreach Case Manager, Sisters Program, 2nd Shift

STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part-time (25 hours/week)

WORK HOURS: Monday-Friday, 4pm-9pm

HOURLY  SALARY: $21.00 – $23.00 plus $1.50 shift differential

POSITION PURPOSE:  Provides day to day coordination, training, and oversight of the 2nd shift Sisters Street Outreach, focusing on harm reduction and mobile case management for women (including cis, trans, and non-binary individuals) engaged in street-based sex work, including sex trafficking and survival sex. Collaborates with the 1st shift Outreach team to ensure continuity of services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Offer practical resources, information and supportive conversation to women who are or might be involved in the street-based sex trade in identified North and South side areas. Provide practical resources, information, and supportive conversations to women involved in or at risk of entering the street-based sex trade in designated North and South side areas.
  • Link women to community resources including food, shelter/housing access, syringe exchange, legal rights, anti-violence advocacy, HIV/STD testing and health care; follow-up to ensure that referrals are appropriate and effective. Connect women to community resources, including food, shelter, syringe exchange, legal rights assistance, anti-violence advocacy, HIV/STD testing, and healthcare. Ensuring follow-up to verify the effectiveness of referrals.
  • Share information about the Sisters Program and the Drop-In Centers, encourage women to join the program voluntarily and connect women to Drop-in Center staff. Sharing information about the Sisters Program and Drop-In Centers, while encouraging women to voluntarily join and facilitating connections with Drop-In Center staff.
  • Identify ways that women are protecting their health and safety on the street and offer additional supports and resources.
  • As possible, provide transportation and accompaniment to appointments and urgent legal, safety and healthcare needs or connect to other staff or partners with availability.   • Follow all prescribed protocols for conducting outreach as documented in the outreach program manual and make decisions during outreach that are in the best interest and safety of staff, agency, and clients.
  • Advocate on behalf of women who are identified by systems as having been sexually assaulted and/or sex trafficked and women who want to report those experiences with systems to ensure their interests are represented and their rights are upheld, including in-person accompaniment with healthcare providers, law enforcement, and other court proceedings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred. Commensurate experience will be considered.
  • Position demands a self-directed, detail-oriented, flexible person with excellent leadership, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in programs that serve women.
  • Ability to collaborate well with women from diverse economic, racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, and religious backgrounds in an open and respectful environment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills; ability to de-escalate conflict situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to mediate and resolve conflict constructively.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn and utilize databases accurately. 

Requirements

  • Must have and maintain a current WI Driver’s license and liability insurance
  • Must be able to pass the Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check
  • This position requires lifting up-to 40 pounds as well as standing, walking, sitting and driving for extended periods of time.
  • Bilingual, Spanish speaking a plus. Pay Differential
