Associate Director of Adult Formation

The Mary Mother of the Church Pastoral Center, located in St. Francis, is the main office for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. The archdiocese covers 10 counties in Southeast Wisconsin and includes almost 200 parishes and over 100 Catholic schools.
The Associate Director of Adult Formation serves parishes and schools through ongoing faith formation, providing teachings of the Catholic Church, and training in the best methods of catechesis. This is done primarily through implementing and managing archdiocesan programs to help teachers, parish catechetical staff, and parish catechists achieve and maintain catechetical certification as outlined in Standards for Educators in Catholic Parishes and Schools by the Wisconsin Catholic Conference.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate retreat experiences for all Catholic school teachers that provide an opportunity to encounter Christ
- Manage the use of online an lead in-person learning programs for teachers, staff and parish catechists to receive systematic instruction in the Catholic faith
- Ensure compliance of all parishes and schools for catechetical certification
- Recruit, train, and schedule speakers to assist with adult formation programs
- Manage program budgets and resources
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure program success
- Communicate regularly with program participants and stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in adult religious education
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Catholic theology or Advanced Catechetical Certification required
- Practicing Catholic in good standing strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years parish or Catholic school experience required
- Experience planning retreats for adults strongly preferred
- Experience in teaching adults required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in adult religious education
Compensation and Benefits
The position is a full-time (40 hours per week), salaried position working in-person at the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Pastoral Center. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee provides a full scope of employment benefits, including medical, dental, vision, flextime, Catholic school tuition assistance for children of employees, 403b retirement plan, and a pension program. Frequent weekend and evening assignments and some travel to parishes throughout the archdiocese is required. Occasional moving of 30-40 pounds required.
