Mental Health 101

The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network – Greater Milwaukee Chapter is hosting “Mental Health 101:”

“May is Mental Health Month! Join us to learn about mental health, mental illness, and the stigma surrounding both. Learn how stigma plays a role in mental health conditions and how you can help support someone you know who may be struggling. Participants will also learn what no-cost services NAMI Southeast Wisconsin provides their community in Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Jefferson Counties.

About the facilitator: Sarah Pfeiffle is the Director of Community Education Outreach at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Southeast Wisconsin, which serves Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Jefferson Counties. Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from UW-Whitewater in 2011 and graduated with her Masters in Social Work with an emphasis in Mental Health in 2014. Sarah is a certified QPR Instructor for Suicide Prevention and a Certified Crisis Intervention Team Coordinator through CIT international and has spent the last 10 years of her career at NAMI through various programs including homeless outreach, suicide prevention, youth education, community awareness and engagement, crisis intervention training, and other community-based mental health trainings.”
