Crisis Intervention Partner Training
NAMI Southeast Wisconsin is offering a Crisis Intervention Partner (CIP) educational workshop. This two-day workshop is designed for any adult that wants to gain skills about understanding how mental health issues impact people, how to identify when someone is in crisis, how to best support them and connect with services. This training is modeled after Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training which is the best practices “Memphis Model” of training for patrol officers. This two-day workshop is targeted to meet the needs of people who interact with people living with mental health issues and/or in a psychiatric crisis.
The workshop combines lectures by experts in various fields with discussion and experiential learning opportunities. Training topics include overview of mental health issues, trauma, substance abuse issues, developmental disabilities, lived experience, supportive listening, and other crisis de-escalation techniques. The workshop is 8:00am to 4:00pm on November 6th & 7th 2023. Attendance of both days is required to receive certificate.
Light breakfast and lunch is included. Please note any dietary needs or restrictions when you register.
Funding for this program is being provided by ProHealth Care. This funding allows us to provide this training at no costs to the attendees.
