POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Career Pathways provides experienced leadership within the department by supervising a variety of roles and overseeing key career and leadership training programs for teens and youth. Direct reports include the Education & Engagement (E&E) Emerging Professional Resident, part-time Teaching Artists and Assistant Teaching Artists and part-time interns, including MPS Arts Interns and Next Narrative Monologue Competition (NNMC) Youth Leaders. Programmatic priorities include management of the Teen Council Leadership Program, coordination of Teen Nights, Career Fairs and Backstage Tours and significant support of the MKE Rep Arts Camp and Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) Summer Academy classes.
Major Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as the supervisor for the following roles: E&E Emerging Professional Resident (EPR), part-time Teaching Artists and Assistant Teaching Artists, and part-time interns for the E&E department, including high school youth leaders.
- Oversee Teaching Artist trainings
- Supervise and manage the Teen Council Leadership Program
- Oversee offsite Career Fairs and onsite Career Day
- Manage Backstage Tours in collaboration with the Associate Director of Engagement
- Assist in the implementation of summer programs, including MKE Rep Arts Camp and MPS Summer Academy
- Support E&E staff on all programs, including Student Matinees, Rep Immersion Days, in-school residencies, Adult Classes, ACC Community Tickets, NNMC, audience engagement programs, Dinner Dialogues, MKE Rep Arts Camp, etc.
- Represent Milwaukee Rep at community events as needed.
- Teaching and curriculum prep, as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE: The bulk of the hours will happen Monday through Friday during traditional business hours. This position must also be available for nights and weekends. Schedule will be adjusted as needed to accommodate non-traditional business hours.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Experience and/or training in theater education and administration which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Experience supervising a diverse staff in a wide variety of situations.
- Knowledge of, experience in, and a passion for theater.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including managing multiple projects simultaneously within deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Possess a valid U.S driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle. Ability to make informed decisions on maintaining Milwaukee Rep’s positive image and public perception of Milwaukee Rep and its programs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with state and/or federal laws.
- This position lifts and moves materials and supplies up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for up to 2 hours at a time.

Compensation: $41,000 – $42,000 annually
