Reports to: Youthbuild Program Manager

Schedule: Full-time 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $45,000 – $50,000, salaried position

Summary

The Youthbuild case manager position works closely with the Youthbuild program and the Youthbuild program manager to meet with Youthbuild members to assist with their professional development, exposure to apprenticeship opportunities, and will maintain consistent communication with members to assess their needs.  This position will require a high level of organization, detailed documentation and attention to detail.

Youthbuild is a national model that teaches trade skills to Milwaukee residents ages 18-24.  Through education in construction and trades, we empower young people to follow a career, pursue their passions and thrive with the knowledge they need to support themselves, their families and community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess needs and coordinate resources: Evaluate member needs, and assist with resources and problem-solving
  • Develop care plans: create plans to help members achieve their goals and the goals of the Youthbuild program
  • Professional Development: Assist members with interview coaching, resume building, exposure to apprenticeships, etc.
  • Maintain records in accordance with grant requirements
  • Maintain complete and detailed case notes, files and maintain daily documentation
  • Understand and meet all requirements set forth by funding sources and the organization
  • Uphold the values and mission of Youthbuild, Employ Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Christian Center

Qualifications

  • Experience in case management, especially with at-risk populations
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teamwork skills with the ability to independently manage projects.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle for daily travel.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred but not required.
  • Experience with nonprofits and/or government programs preferred.

Work Environment

Milwaukee Christian Center is a multi-service organization that works to build strong neighborhoods full of opportunity. We approach that work through four core areas: housing, youth development, older adults, and food security – serving over 7,500 people each year. What began with American Baptist roots providing outreach to immigrants on Milwaukee’s south side in 1921, MCC now serves youth, families, and older adults of all races, ethnicities, religions, and ages throughout the city of Milwaukee.

The Operations Manager’s office is located within Milwaukee Christian Center’s main site, located at 807 S 14th St, Milwaukee along with programming and community members. The position is expected to travel to other MCC program sites throughout Milwaukee County occasionally.
