SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Associate Director and working in collaboration with our current Program Capacity and Support Coordinator, this position works closely with local agencies, statewide and national partners to support the capacity and sustainability of domestic violence services and programs to serve victims though training and technical assistance (TA). The PCS Coordinator will:
- Strengthen the work of the Wisconsin domestic abuse program community during the COVID-19 pandemic by promoting the development of an inclusionary infrastructure, technical resources, leadership development and innovation in advocacy practices with a special focus on strengthening community partnerships between healthcare and member programs.
- Provide training and technical assistance to both dominant culture and culturally specific programs.
- Partner with member programs to build innovative and new approaches to domestic violence intervention and community safety specifically related to the physical and mental health of survivors.
- Provide leadership development at all organizational levels that include advocates, executive directors, and Board of Director members.
- Encourage coordination/collaboration to ensure that all population communities are full partners in the movement to end domestic violence in Wisconsin.
Primary responsibilities
Development and Capacity Enhancement of Victim Advocacy Services
Support the development and implementation of a sustainable system of creative and supportive advocacy services through technical assistance, assessment, education/training, mentoring, networking and resource materials development. Promote services that are culturally competent/relevant and reflective of the diversity of domestic violence victims including all non-dominant Wisconsin populations. Incorporate within this work a trauma-informed approach and philosophy.
- Provide ongoing technical assistance, training, mentoring and in-person support throughout Wisconsin addressing needs of service providers and diverse communities.
- Take a lead role in facilitating workforce development, including hiring, training and supporting new advocates.
- Increase the participation of survivors and advocates from underrepresented and/or underserved communities in social change and advocacy efforts through working with local programs and communities to explore and create avenues of engagement for them.
- Collaborate with Wisconsin and national groups to support domestic violence programs in creating and incorporating trauma informed approaches throughout their organizations, including vicarious and historical trauma.
- Provide TA and support for new program director and advocates.
- Cultivate new and maintain existing partnerships with domestic violence programs and other community stakeholders by attending Regional and State Directors’ meetings.
- Support domestic violence program effectiveness with local coordinated community response efforts.
- Provide leadership and manage the advocacy related technical assistance services to member programs; make decisions; solve problems; develop procedures; develop records/files; conduct meetings; represent End Domestic Abuse WI at internal and external meetings.
- In coordination with the Education and Training Coordinator, take the lead role in the coordination of the Trauma, Mental Health and Substance Use Training.
- Provide training support for End Abuse’s foundational trainings, such as New Director University, Teen Summit, the Northern Training, Regional Advocate Days of Training (RAD), and other End Abuse meetings, trainings, or events as needed.
- Actively participate on grant funder-initiated workgroups and trainings to provide support for state programs
Grant Management
- Track and submit required technical assistance and training data.
- Compile and submit grant reports to project funder(s) as needed.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide general technical assistance coverage for the Madison office.
- Collaborate with other End Abuse staff to facilitate opportunities for increased collaboration between systems, organizations, and statewide policy.
- Attend and participate in internal End Abuse committees, workgroups and initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience working in a Domestic Violence (DV) or DV/Sexual Assault program, preferably in a leadership role.
- Experience and/or comfort with providing assistance over the telephone, via email, or in-person to advocates, Executive Directors, and others on a range of topics related to program capacity and services.
- Experience and comfort with public speaking and training, including workshop and curriculum development.
- Ability to travel statewide is crucial to this position.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance and access to a safe, reliable, private vehicle.
- Experience working with under-represented and/or under-served populations and with individuals across the lifespan.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, and comfortable with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams).
Preferred
- Experience working in a culturally specific Domestic Violence (DV) or DV/Sexual Assault program.
- Fluency in another language other than English.
- Ability to learn and utilize additional forms of technology.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work performed in an office setting or at a training requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to travel across the state requires a valid driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance, which must be current and on file at all times.
- Ability to lift office supplies and materials on occasion for trainings less than 50 pounds.
- The person in this position must be able to exchange accurate information over the telephone, email, or videocalls.
- Must possess the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations, such as: responding to complaints; handling difficult internal and external interactions; effectively working long and, at times, odd hours; maintaining a restorative nature and sense of humor throughout.

This is a permanent full-time exempt position. The range position is $52,000 to $60,000 annually commensurate with experience.
