Be the difference, put your passion into action – join Math Corps! Across the country, math skills are a challenge for many students, fewer than one-third of our 8th graders are proficient in math. Together, we can make a difference!

As a Math Tutor, your crucial role will impact the lives of many children, offering vital assistance to those who need extra help in understanding math concepts. Immerse yourself in a local school, aiding students in grades fourth through eighth, offering guidance to groups of 2-3 students to provide extra practice and build skills. Your commitment during school hours throughout the academic year guarantees a significant impact.

With training and on-site coaching, you’ll be prepared to empower students in their math journey. Join our AmeriCorps team on a mission multiply future opportunities through math! Compensation & Perks Package

While you’re making a difference, you’ll receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks and additional perks! As an AmeriCorps program we have both federally provided benefits and program specific benefits.

Federal Benefits include:

  • Up to $5176.50 in Education Award
    • Segal AmeriCorps Education Award* which can be used to pay tuition or repay qualified student loans. Individuals 55+ at the start of their service term may gift their award to a family member. Click Here for more information.
  • Federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment.
  • Time accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Program Specific Benefits by hours commitment per week

25 Hours

  • $650 stipend paid every two weeks.

Math Corps is powered by AmeriCorps members who serve as tutors. Started in 2008, Math Corps has helped more than 55,000 kids in grades K-8 build foundational skills and get on track with math. Math Corps is an Ampact educational program that is fueled by research from the National Science + Service Collaborative. As a national organization, Ampact demonstrates the power of national service to solve complex social problems by creating innovative programs that focus on the key areas of education, environmental stewardship, and healthy futures for communities.
