Position Overview:
Program and Office Manager: This position includes programming work and office work and would average 25 hours per week, with flexibility based on programs and events of the organization. The Program and Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing organizational requirements, handling membership information and donations and communicate with the membership and media. This person will also work with the Steering Committee, collaborate with other community partner organizations and organize (with volunteers) annual events such as Lanterns for Peace, the annual membership meeting and other educational events and demonstrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Website, Email, social media: Create content for website and send out regular emails with timely events, news and updates; create Facebook posts for our events; and monitor social media.
- Organize: Special events, demonstrations, tabling events, fundraising events, often in collaboration with other local organizations.
- Represent Peace Action: at meetings with local organizations and with National Peace Action and Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice.
- Newsletter: work with editor and writers in facilitating the bi-monthly production of the Mobilizer; work with Clark Graphics for the bulk mailing of the newsletter; organize volunteers to compile the newsletter for the bulk mailing.
- Office: pick up mail, enter data into our Nation Builder program, communicate with our bookkeeper all the income and expenses, pay bills, maintain good relationships with Zao Church where our office is located, arrange special fundraising mailings, prepare documents for tax accountants, file annual State reports to comply with non-profit rules, answer phone calls and emails.
- Steering Committee: communicate with the steering committee and attend monthly meeting, either via zoom or in person.
This part-time position is an independent contractor position. You would report to the Steering Committee but have a great deal of independence and flexibility. The compensation is $20 per hour.
Qualifications:
Strong Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, with attention to detail.
Basic Communication Sills:
Ability to compose clear and concise emails and documents; public speaking to groups and media; knowledgeable about and commitment to our issues.
Technologically Proficient:
Comfortable with Microsoft Office and willing to learn Nation Builder.
Problem-Solving Skills:
The ability to handle small office issues or challenges as they arise, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.
Flexible Schedule:
This part-time position offers flexible hours, with remote work and in the office as needed and some evening and weekend meetings.
Coalition Building
Ability to work well with other organizations and represent Peace Action Wisconsin in a professional manner.
