The Coordinator for the Dane County Treatment Court and Diversion Programs (DCTP/DCDP) plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful operation of these essential services. The Coordinator is responsible for managing program activities, providing some direct case management, and supporting the Service Director in hiring and overseeing the wrap-around case management team. This includes workload distribution, ensuring efficient program delivery, and maintaining high standards of care. In addition, the Coordinator will provide ongoing training and coaching to staff and assist with policy and procedure reviews to ensure services align with program goals. This role involves facilitating advisory board meetings and organizing up to three community-based events annually for program participants. Working with a population involved in the criminal legal system who may face socioeconomic challenges requires strong problem-solving abilities and an individual who is both compassionate and empathetic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development, maintenance, and updating of program policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff compliance with program policies, procedures, and diversion and treatment court standards and best practices.
  • Assist in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new wrap-around case management staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and professional development to assigned staff.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of program services, case documentation, court reports, and staff-client interactions to maintain service excellence.
  • Serve as a liaison between DCTP/DCDP programs, community providers, the advisory board, system collaborators, and the community at large.
  • Complete required paperwork, including accurate data entry and timely reporting.
  • Monitor and report on program activities, outcomes, and performance metrics.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices, such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral interventions, when working with program participants.
  • Facilitate advisory board meetings and coordinate up to three annual community events for program participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the program’s mission.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field is preferred; a bachelor’s degree with equivalent management experience in criminal justice or human services will also be considered.
  • Applied knowledge of mental health, substance use disorders, and the impacts of poverty on various socioeconomic groups.
  • Strong familiarity with community mental health and AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse) treatment resources.
  • Understanding of and experience with evidence-based practices for client populations.
  • Prior experience in case management services, with a focus on improving client outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and initiative.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
